Strawberry Jam

This recipe is a go-to for that sweet fix. It’s a no fuss, people pleasing sweet treat that’ll quickly become a staple on your sourdough. 


  • Strawberries, washed, hulled and cut into quarters
  • Sugar, white
  • 2 TBLSPN lemon juice
  • 3 TSPN pectin (optional)


  1. Place all ingredients in a pot and let stand overnight. This allows the liquid to be drawn out from the berries.
  2. Place the pot on the stove and bring to the boil, then reduce the heat to low & stir continuously for 30 minutes.
  3. Spoon the jam into sterilised jars & tighten the lid immediately.
  4. Store in a cool place until opened, then store in the fridge.
